CSXT HDF Fuel Index Rate Adjustment Update for July 1, 2024

Dear CSX Transportation Customer,

Following is the CSX Transportation HDF Fuel Index Rate Adjustment (8661) amount effective July 1, 2024.

CSXT HDF/Mileage Based Fuel Index Rate Adjustment (8661)

The highway diesel fuel/mileage based fuel index rate adjustment is published in CSXT 8661 and applies to all line haul freight rates and charges set forth in contracts, and other pricing documents that reference CSXT Publication 8661 dated on or after April 23, 2007.

The CSXT HDF/mileage based fuel index rate adjustment of 51 cents per mile, which became effective June 1, 2024, will change to 46 cents per mile for shipments having a bill of lading dated on or after July 1, 2024.

Following are the 8661 CSXT HDF/mileage based fuel index rate adjustments:

57 cents per mile effective January 1, 2024
50 cents per mile effective February 1, 2024
47 cents per mile effective March 1, 2024
52 cents per mile effective April 1, 2024
51 cents per mile effective May 1, 2024
51 cents per mile effective June 1, 2024
46 cents per mile effective July 1, 2024

The fuel index rate adjustment (contract rates - 8661) amount is based on the "HDF Average Price" of 382.2 cents per gallon for the calendar month of May 2024. The "HDF Average Price" is on U. S. No. 2 Diesel Retail Sales by All Sellers, as determined and published by the U. S. Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration at www.eia.doe.gov.
