Angie Williams Receives Florida State University's Accounting Alumni Achievement Award


July 9, 2024  Angie Williams, CSX Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, has been selected to receive the Accounting Alumni Achievement Award from Florida State University (FSU).
 
Established in 2019, the Accounting Alumni Achievement Award is given each year to FSU graduates who have demonstrated excellence in their professional accomplishments while also making significant contributions to their community and the university.
 
“Angie’s dedication to her career, her alma mater, and her community sets a standard in her profession and at CSX,” said Sean Pelkey, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at CSX. “We are all proud to call her a colleague and a friend.”
 
In her role at CSX, Williams is responsible for overseeing all corporate accounting functions, including financial and regulatory reporting, billing and collections, payroll and labor services, among other accounting areas. Her leadership and expertise have been pivotal in ensuring the company's financial integrity and operational efficiency.
 
Williams’ commitment to her profession and her community is evident through her various contributions. She not only excels in her professional responsibilities but also actively supports and participates in community service initiatives. Among her engagements, Williams serves as the executive sponsor of CSX’s Asian Professionals for Excellence business resource group and is on the board of the CSX Foundation.
 
The FSU Accounting Alumni Achievement Award will be presented to Williams at the fall meeting of the Accounting Professional Advisory Board in Tallahassee, where her achievements and contributions will be formally recognized.
