June 20, 2024 – International Rail Journal has awarded CSX’s Maryclare Kenney a spot on their prestigious 2024 Women in Rail list, which celebrates the leadership and achievements of women in the industry.
“Maryclare exemplifies leadership, innovation, and dedication in the rail industry,” writes IRJ in their profile. “Through her mentorship and community involvement, she continues to inspire and support the next generation of leaders in the industry.”
As Vice President for Intermodal and Automotive, Kenney oversees more than half of CSX’s business volume, with responsibility for all sales and marketing activity for the company’s $2.1B Intermodal business and $1.2B Automotive business. She also oversees Automotive terminal operations, with accountability for safety, vehicle quality and operational productivity. Her emphasis on teamwork and collaboration has been key in establishing innovative solutions and driving CSX's industry-leading performance, especially through supply chain challenges that began during the pandemic.
International Rail Journal also cites Kenney’s inspiring dedication to giving back to her community and the industry in bestowing the 2024 honor. She is a mentor with American Corporate Partners and serves as the executive sponsor for CSX’s Military Business Resource Group. Kenney is also heavily involved in CSX Pride in Service — which connects veterans, military, first responders and their families to resources and support they need — spearheading events in partnership with organizations that include Operation Gratitude, Operation Homefront, Blue Star Families and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Kenney has previously been recognized as a Transportation Innovator by the Jacksonville Business Journal and appeared on Diversity MBA’s top 100 under 50 list. Her leadership was also instrumental in CSX earning the title of top rail provider in the Journal of Commerce’s first-ever domestic intermodal service scorecard.
