CSX Transportation
CSX’s principal operating company, CSX Transportation, provides an important link to the transportation supply chain through its approximately 20,000 route-mile rail network, which serves key population centers in the majority of states east of the Mississippi River, the District of Columbia and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. CSX serves more than 70 ocean, river and lake ports along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, the Mississippi River, the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway. CSX also serves thousands of production and distribution facilities through connections to more than 230 short line and regional railroads.
CSX Intermodal Terminals
CSX Intermodal Terminals provides and arranges for the intermodal terminal services and trucking services for CSX Transportation’s intermodal business. Containers and trailers are loaded and unloaded from trains, and trucks provide the link between intermodal terminals and the customer. CSX Intermodal Terminals operates more than 50 terminals across the eastern United States.
CSX Technology
CSX Technology provides a wide range of information technology applications and support services. Applications encompass day-to-day processing including freight scheduling, tracking and monitoring, as well as more comprehensive functions such as data resource management, system architecture and network management.
CSX Real Property Inc.
CSX Real Property is responsible for real estate sales, leasing, acquisition and management, and development activities. It serves customers through sale of land for industrial development as well as rail corridor use for utilities, pipelines or telecommunication transmission lines. Learn more
