Broberg is currently skating through his second season with the Blues, having first joined the team as a restricted free agent back on August 20, 2024. This season, Broberg has been a consistent presence on the ice, playing in every single one of the Blues' 45 games so far. He's contributed 14 points (two goals and 12 assists) and accumulated a mere six penalty minutes. Last year, he made a bigger splash, racking up 29 points (eight goals and 21 assists) in 68 regular-season games. And this is the part most people miss... He also led all Blues defensemen with an impressive plus-21 rating, meaning the team scored 21 more goals than they allowed while he was on the ice. That's a strong indicator of his defensive responsibility and overall impact.
Looking at his career stats, Broberg has played in 194 regular-season games, amassing a total of 56 points (12 goals and 44 assists), 32 penalty minutes, and a plus-16 rating. These are solid numbers, especially considering his age and the fact that he's still developing.
But Broberg isn't just about regular-season performance. He has also gained valuable experience in the playoffs, appearing in 27 career postseason games. Notably, he played 10 games in the 2023-24 playoffs, helping the Edmonton Oilers reach the ultimate stage: the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. While the Oilers didn't win, that kind of high-pressure experience is invaluable.
